Saturday & exploring locally

Some Saturday chores took us to Knaresborough & as Moss came too we decided to take a walk along the River Nidd, nothing new there but we took a different route & found quite a bit of interest.
First was St Roberts Cave.

This was a site visited by pilgrims in the early Middle Ages & includes the excavated site of the chapel. Further along the gorge towards Knaresborough are a number of houses both bearing not just the name of the Abbey that once stood here, but some of the stones from the Abbey.
